artist's note

These paintings are a response to lives that are too often filled with chaos and anxiety.  I was inspired by a recent art workshop I attended in Sedona, AZ.  I wanted to capture the feeling of “chillness” that I experienced while being surround by the beauty and natural feel of Sedona. 

My goal was to temporarily move away from my often times very angular and emotionally raw work which you can see in the main gallery.  Instead I wanted to focus on softness, calmness and simple beauty, at least as I see it.
